John left his career in sales to pursue his passion for the hospitality industry in 2002 and immersed himself in formal culinary education and gained valuable experience as line cook and sous chef. Opening his award winning restaurant the Navy Yard Bistro and Wine Bar in the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston in 2004. The Bistro became the ultimate neighborhood restaurant of Charlestown. It received numerous “Best of Boston” awards from magazines, television appearances and other media accolades. John was most proud of the Bistro’s commitment to the community of Charlestown. John and the Bistro raised over 75,000 dollars for the local food pantry through donation of five course dinners. John further enjoyed his role as chef/host of the annual Charlestown Boys and Girls Club “Patriots Tailgate” fundraiser. Many local charities benefited over the his 15 years of ownership, he was recognized with the 2011 Charleston Humanitarian Award and the Community Hero Award in 2018 from Action Boston Community Development.

In 2014 John bought a home in Delray Beach and fell in love with the Delray and Boca area. As an entrepreneur, John was thrilled with the opportunity to acquire Vino Wine Bar & Kitchen. Committed to delivering a variety of quality food and wines in an intimate and personal experience. John will build on Vino’s success by adding northern style Bistro fare to its Italian classics menu and expanding wine offerings from the around globe at great value, particularly higher end vintages. John is a ‘hands on’ owner, working all aspects of the restaurant and engaging with his customers. He immediately feels right at home and looks forward to getting involved in the Boca community and providing great hospitality to the neighborhood.
